Project description I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude toward the Client for entrusting me with this meaningful project and for providing such positive feedback throughout our collaboration. Project Overview: The goal of this project was to design a minimal aesthetic Canva memorial photobook to honor the memory of the Client's colleague, incorporating carefully selected photos and heartfelt messages from fellow colleagues. The design process aimed to create a soothing and elegant ambiance while respecting the gravity of the subject matter. Progress Updates: From the very beginning, I understood the importance of crafting a design that reflected the essence of the tribute. My commitment to delivering high-quality work within the agreed timeline allowed me to make steady progress. The client was an incredible partner, providing valuable insights and the updated Canva link, which helped me align the design with Client's vision perfectly. Design Approach: To achieve the minimal aesthetic, I meticulously chose a palette of four colors. Classic White and Black ensured the messages were clear and legible, while Lilac and Beige added a touch of serenity and warmth to the overall design. The A4 portrait size format was selected to ensure the photobook formats correctly for printing. Project Completion: I was delighted to know that Client was pleased with the final design. The approval of the milestone was a fantastic acknowledgment of our collaboration's success. The client's kind words and feedback, along with the five-star rating, truly mean a lot to me. It was an honor to be part of preserving the cherished memories of a colleague and offering comfort to her friends and family.

I remember being very new to the business, probably about 2 months in and Jay was trying to convince me to come to pool to make me feel included. One day I finally said yes and this was a very nerve racking experience for me as I was still so green (and pretty shocking at pool), However, Maxine noticed this and insisted that we played about 8 games together and then preceded to roast me when I couldn't beat her! *One memory that stands out the most for me is when I was creating the women's day exhibition and I was going around asking if any one had any contributions; I got to Max and asked "are you an arty girl? Have you got anything you can add for today?". She laughed said, "oh no, not me, I don't paint or anything." She giggled a bit and told me how excited she was to see everything and I thought that was it. She came and found me no more than half an hour later and said "well I feel like maybe I have something but it's not a painting" and proceeded to explain to me that her cooking and feeding the people around her was her form of art, that| il's where she felt the most creative and fulfilled. Her contribution was to sort all the retreshments and little cakes alongside a very funny photo of a little face made from fruit - just so I had something to stick up on the wall. It speaks to her kindness and her deep care for everyone. Her joy was to look after us and make sure we all had the best day (and definitely that we were fed well). I had many a conversation with this amazing and beautiful lady, one conversation that stands out in my mind consisted of her children, showing me videos of them singing on the X Factor, and seeing Maxine literally glow while we watched them. She was super proud of them. I also recall the bull at last years barbeque. I was relatively new and it was my first social function at VCC, and god she was determined to ride that bull! After several attempts at actually trying to get on the bull and after the help of someone else she was finally on it! I just remember thinking WOW, what a woman, absolutely no fear at all, I was in utter awe, she took super good care of everybody and I am truly going to miss her lovely face and her presence." It can be a technical oriented text which means it's not friendly to every type of reader. this, will appeal to those who have the knowledge to understand the terms, used in music such as 'phrasing and: harmony, Another, way the text. can be presented "is" descriptive this means having a necessary reference to describe with accuracy which is easier to read than the previous approach It can also be about the feelings certain typesof music can evoke in a person: this will make the content very easy to read but it may be a very opinion oriented text. Lastly philosophy also covers music writing in a different way. It is up the author to decide whether the content is dense or lighter to read. For example. in an essay called "Late Style in Beethoven" Theodor Adorno explains: Thus, in the very late Beethoven the conventions find expression as the naked representation of themselves. This is the function of the often remarked upon abbreviation of his style. It seeks not so much to free the musical language from mere phrases, as rather, to free the mere phrase from the appearance of its subjective mastery. But at the same time, he can write: This sheds light on the nonsensical fact that the very late Beethoven is called both subjective and objective. Objective is the fractured landscape, subjective the light in which-alone-it glows, into life. He does not bring about their harmonious synthesis. ARTURO RIVERA. STEPHEN JONES Keeping in Touch During the summer holidays, it is important to consider how much time students should have to rest up. as well as their practice schedule. Being summer time, students should really be focused on resting and having fun... The idea should be. as teachers, to sneak their way in the fun side of things. but how? According to a website called "Creative Soul Music School" one of the tips to help with students' practice is to: ...be involved. This is the most common approach and probably an obvious one for most parents. Ask your kids to show you what they've learned so far, or just hang out in the same room while they practice. Sometimes practicing can get lonely, so simply keeping them company will help. This tip may work with a few adjustments. First of all. because everyone is on vacation, so being on the same room will not be possible. Luckily, the internet means that it is much easier to connect from different destinations these days. There are many ways to use online practice to our advantage: one of them is to end on a high note before summer and give one special task to make something of your own creation". This has to be taken as some sort of experiment since it might not go as planned, but if handled correctly, students will want to share their discoveries. their compositions, and ask for help to make music, which is should be the whole idea of being in music classes. In an online classroom the teacher can't be too much of regular teacher, because it would make the interactions a bit boring. They should be undercover teachers where they seem to be a music partner or a band mate, when they are really tuning skills and analyzing progress. This can't be taken as a malicious or bad thing. they need the guidance, but there has to be the right balance between the band mate attitude and the teacher. so even if things flow well and the student is having fun, above all they always have to be reminded that it is a teacher-student relationship. While it is a time for a break. it shouldn't be a full stop. For students it's also a special kind of practice. because there is a change of dynamic which resembles the rest of the musician's life after he is done studying The summer holidays are also an opportunity for teachers to break out of the routine and explore other options and strategies to use when summer's over. This includes reviewing past lessons and brainstorming solutions to recurring problems with students. Outside of that it's a good opportunity to explore other areas that don't involve the usual teacher-student dynamic: perhaps reading about music, philosophy and writing about music. personall experiences. essays and articles. Engaging in this type of reflection and learning will not only improve the way you teach while entertaining yourself. but also jump start the creative part of your mind around music. If you teach or play music.it is most likely your lifelong passion, and to progress in skills, talent and knowledge, it is a art that must be walked around-year-round. not just during the school year. As musicians, you need to take your time and explore the different ways it can serve your mind in order to expand your knowledge and make it your own. not only in music theory, or practice, but also in relation to other aspects of life and to the way you express yourself. I seriously doubt you'll ever find a long-distance digital audio delivery method whose latency is low enough that an accompanist would not to have to account for it. If you want your singer not to have to account for path delays, you're going to need to play far enough ahead of them to compensate for the delay between you. The only way your brain is ever going to have any chance at achieving that is if you're wearing headphones that block out most of the local sound so that almost the only thing you're hearing is what's coming back from the other end, and even then it's going to take a fair amount of practice to achieve the frankly weird technique that will be required. It won't be impossible: good church organists use a very similar technique to overcome the fact that the valves operated by the keys don't instantly shove the air through the pipes. But you absolutely will need to treat Skyped piano as its own instrument, because it's not going to behave like an ordinary piano. Skype can indeed transfer audio both ways simultaneously, but by default it includes a fair bit of audio processing that's going to get in your way for this job: specifically, echo cancellation built to get rid of the delayed copy of your own signal that you're going to need to rely on, and automatic gain control to reduce the effects of ambient noise. Both of these things make for clearer and easier one-at-a-time voice conversation but they'll screw up musical accompaniment bigtime. Fortunately, the Googles are full of hints for turning them off.
